An effective teacher will not rely exclusively on textbooks to teach. There are many different teaching aids that can be used to make lessons more interesting and effective. Many of these aids will be dependent on what the school provides or has funding for, but many aids can be created by the teacher, either through the large selection of free online resources, or manually with any type of writing board or blank paper if needed. The basics teaching aids needed beyond the textbook are a board (can be chalk, white, overhead projector or computer screen projector), and at least some paper to create worksheets. Audio/visual projectors and video recorders (i.e. mobile phones) are also great tools to aid in the language learning process.
