In my opinion, a course book is necessary for an inexperienced teacher. It helps the teacher to decide and plan their lessons. I feel that it would be good if the students are provided some notes on top of the course book to aid them in understanding the lessons. It may not need to be relevant to them in that year of study. I feel that as long as it helps them when they study the language, be it in school or when they are in the workforce, it would benefit them to have a copy of those notes.
