This unit has highlighted obvious common problems that are often overlooked due to various reasons. It is essential for a teacher to be motivated to teach the students, to avoid taking the easy way out, such as in cases where there are reluctant students, or in classes where the convenient solution is to neglect the weaker students or to leave them to their better classmates who have more compassion than the teacher does. I agree with the emphasis on the importance of establishing a good rapport with the students, and ensuring that the students have rapport amongst themselves to spur each other on, and to make lessons more enjoyable. The suggestions with warmers to start a lessons is excellent, as I remember my own days of learning a foreign language, and how some of my teachers were amazing with turning a potentially bleak day into one of fun learning. The ideas proposed to manage large classes is also very helpful in ensuring that most students will participate and leave the lesson a little richer than when they first stepped in. In summary, this has been a useful unit to end this course with.
