There was a lot of information given in this unit, and I definitely need more practise to be familiar with the grammar! This unit touched on modal auxiliary verbs, forming sentences in the passive voice, relative clauses and phrasal verbs - all of which I have taken for granted in my everyday life usage. It is only upon reading about each of them that I recognise the difficulties I may face when trying to communicate the differences to students. The teaching ideas suggested are helpful with planning how to help students understand, practise the new grammar and not be fearful of the new grammar. The suggestion to incorporate phrasal verbs into everyday common conversations is an excellent idea to familiarise students with what they have learnt.
This unit was also a great revision of some of the earlier units for me, ranging from the units focusing on grammar to the units that focused on monitoring the students' progress, and how I can help the students evaluate their own progress through possible progress tests.
