This unit has highlighted to me the importance of evaluating a student's progress and giving feedback. As such, it is important to know the different ways of assessing a student's progress, and the most effective way to communicate their progress to them. Through knowing their progress, we can find out which are the problem areas, and have an idea of which teaching methods are more effective. For the students, it may be useful for them to know which are their weaker areas that they have to put more effort into.
Knowing the different types of tests available, and the objective of each test is useful in helping us decide which tests to integrate into our teaching programs. Awareness of the variety of external examinations available is also useful when we advise students which type of certification they need for their purposes.
