The videos were very useful in highlighting the importance of the teacher's attitude. In the second video, the teacher clearly built a better rapport with the students through genuine interest in engaging and teaching them. He was also attentive to their progress and was very encouraging. The teacher in the first video was a good example of what not to do - being unfriendly, uninterested and almost hostile in his responses to the students. The activities in the second video were also clearly explained with examples, and Simon asked questions nicely to ensure that the students knew what to do. In the first video the teacher was making a lot of rude remarks and mocking students for their mistakes, and this is something that probably intimidated the students. The body language of the teacher in the first video was also rather inappropriate, especially the way he was swinging his arms to get the students to respond to him. Whereas in the second video, the teacher was more respectful and did not put anyone in a tight spot. The teaching method was also better and clearer in the second video, with appropriate visual prompts and the students were given time to learn and to respond.
