This unit gave me a better understanding of how to set up a lesson so that a learner can listen and read in the most successful way. Keeping students engaged is half the battle, and this unit along with others has helped me to understand how to interest, engage, and work hard with the students. I never knew the different types of listening, and now I know when and how to motivate students to use them in my lesson plans.
