The difference between the two lessons was more subtle than I expected it to be. Yes the teacher's attitude made a difference in the learning outcome, but it was hard to tell whether the students were getting it or not either way. In the first video the teacher was borderline disparaging of students when they got an answer wrong and it's easy to see how that doesn't promote a class room where students feel comfortable to volunteer answers. Overall it was very helpful to see an ESL teacher in action and develop a better understanding of what exactly the job entails.
