In unit 14, I learned what materials the teacher would typically use to teach their students as well as for the students, to learn the English language. I find that a variety of materials is needed to effectively delivery lessons to students. It is with great advantage to use the course book but with supplemented materials adapted for the students level of learning. I like that the course book has an available syllabus ready for the teachers needs however it lacks interesting topics and materials . So, the teacher should always replace some of the course material with videos, flash cards, cassettes, cds, pictures and the such to make for a all around great lesson. You should analyse check the course book and materials to make sure they are adapted for your students. The price, design, methodology and if it is readily available to your students. To sum it up, the unit was very helpful!
