This unit covered introducing new language to students. Introducing new language depends on the level of the students, but this unit attempted to speak about the issue generally. I learned about how the three different phases--engage, study, and activate--can be used with respect to teaching new language concepts. When teaching vocabulary, it is important to convey the meaning, pronunciation, and spelling of new words, along with how to use them most appropriately. It is similar when teaching new grammatical structures and phrases. When deciding what to teach, it is important to focus on relevancy and coverage.
