This unit covered the various ways to manage classrooms. I learned the importance of gesture, voice and eye contact in teaching and disciplining students as well as the factors that need to be considered in grouping the students. The unit also highlighted the importance of building rapport with students and also gave some practical ways of doing this, such as knowing all the students' names, getting the students to correct each other, and always be positive in everything. In addition, the unit gave instructions on the language that should be used in instructing the students: simple, clear and concise. It again emphasized the importance of giving more talking time to students and highlighted when and under what circumstances the teacher should speak.
