TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - TEFL Video Journal - Linda, Part 10

In part 10 of her TEFL review video journal, Linda tells us that she has been studying unit 11 of the 120-hour online TEFL course from ITTT. Unit 11 covers receptive skills which involve the ability to listen and read. The unit teaches trainees how to develop strategies for helping students improve their ability to understand English through reading and listening.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This lesson gave me an overview on present tense, at first it was tricky but once I started reviewing and watching videos I started to get the hang of it. For example, the usage of present perfect continuous how to use it in a sentence, the negative and when asking a question.I really this unit, everything was about how i can deal with some situation during the teaching time; also, i have realised some errors that i have been doing in class and now i know how to avoid, prevent and control them in case that those situation come back in my classroom. This unit was difficult yet interesting. I had tried to teach pronunciation when I was a teacher, but ran into many of the obstacles laid out here. This chapter was useful and now I understand how to present pronunciation and how to teach it more effectively in my classroom.
