TESOL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Ruth
Ruth lives in Nicaragua and took the 120-hour online TESOL without tutor support from ITTT. In this TESOL review video Ruth discusses what she enjoyed about the course. She found the course units to be simple and easy to follow and particularly liked the teaching ideas that the course provided to help her teach language concepts in more varied and interesting ways. She also benefited from the job help provided at the end of the course.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
In Unit 7 I learned how to choose vocabulary and the needs of the students. Vocabulary needs to be appropriate for the student level and the task. Students need to learn language that is commonly used in society. It's important for students to understand the meaning and usage of vocabulary, language structures, and functions. It's best to use a 'Straight Arrow' ESA lesson structure for vocabulary. In contrast, a 'Boomerang' or 'patchwork' ESA lesson is best suited for grammatical structures and language functions. This unit provided some great Engage and Study ideas I can see myself utilizing in the future.
