TESOL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Meera
Meera is currently living in France and wants to teach English as a foreign language. In her TEFL review video, Meera tells us how she wasn’t originally aware of TEFL until a friend told her about ITTT. Although initially anxious that the course might take some time to complete, she found the units were easy to follow, informative and enjoyable.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Common problem situations. Two different types of group situations, a new group or an existing group with rapport is established. It's never a good idea to use textbooks or start coursework on the first lesson. Playing games to establish rapport and also find out about students interest, needs, and skill level is good to asses in the first lesson. Using their native language, or allowing the students to speak and ask questions in language other than English is highly discouraged. Students should always at least attempt to convey their message in English and teachers should always try to answer in English.
