Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

Unit 5 is all about classroom managemen.
Classroom management is the skill of organizing and managing the class, as well as having a relaxed manner in the classroom while maintaining disciplin.
One of the things that the teacher has to master is using eye contact, gesture and the use of his/her voic.
Good eye contact is essential to establishing good rapport with student.
Good gestures convey the meaning of language and to reduce the need for verbal explanation among other thing.
The teacher's voice should have clarity, range, variety and good projection to be able to convey instructions and explanations to student.
This chapter also explained ways in which the teacher can group students: whole class grouping, students working on their own, pair work and group wor.
The teacher should create variety as much as possible in grouping students to allow the opportunity for student talk time and participatio.
Classroom arrangement is the way the teacher organizes his position and of the student.
Orderly rows, circles, separate tables and teacher's position are some of the position in which a teacher can organize his/her clas.
This unit has also emphasized on the importance of balance between teacher talking time(TTT) and student talking time(STT.
Using TTT ensures that the students are provided with a source of natural, correct Englis.
TTT is used when presenting, providing language input, giving instructions and establishing rappor.
To maintain discipline in the classroom it is important that the teacher have a correct balance between exercising control and encouraging a relaxed, friendly atmospher.
I have learned a lot in this chapte.
Being an introvert, i have real fears of public speakin.
However, i was reassured by the available methods by which a teacher can communicate better with the class even with less teacher talk tim.
I am pretty good with eye contact and gesture.
I just have to improve the clarity and range of my voic.
This chapter has emphasized on the ability of the teacher to observe the student.
Managing the class has also a great deal to do with the teacher's personalit.
He/she must have patience in dealing with the students and respect the student.
