This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit complemented unit 11 very well in that it highlighted the different approaches teachers must take with regards to productive skills and receptive skills. I had never considered all of the elements that could potentially be issues in writing, but penmanship, punctuation, and even the layout of a writing sample certainly seem relevant to whether or not an assignment is cohesive or not. I would have appreciated more examples of ways to address the penmanship and layout issues, however, because it could certainly be a significant hurdle with students who do not use our alphabet (Chinese, Thai, etc...).
