This unit looked at modal verbs, phrasal verbs and active and passive voice structures within sentences. Although appearing complicated I found this easier to understand through watching the accompanying video which broke down each area needing to be learned unordered order to make it easier to understand how each area works and functions. For me an area that really stood out was modal verbs; that by changing the modal verb used in a sentence can change completely how a sentence is interpreted even though the main structure of sentence has remained the same from a sentence sounding like a request to quickly becoming an obligation. I can see now how this can cause problems for English learners when beginning to write in English how their message can be so easily misinterpreted through using the wrong modal verb to what they want to say.
