The unit on coursebooks and lesson materials are certainly very interesting. For this part the advantage and disadvantage of using a course book is very clear. A course book provides a very proved lesson plan for the general population of the ESL students. But it might not fit a very specific group of students. For example, a group of students only want to improve on language about movies because they are actors or so on. Otherwise authentic materials are very good for experienced ESL learner.Because they all come from the real life occasions of English speaking country.It helps the students not only be apart of language speaking environment but also improve their understanding of the language.But when using authentic materials, teacher will need to make sure everything is fitted for the course and the general class can understand the basic materials mention on the material.
