Lesson planning is important in that it can provide necessary structure and organization for new and training teachers. There should be a good balance of structure and flexibility in utilizing lesson planning within real-world classroom situations. Lesson plans will ideally include learner objectives, personal aims of the teacher, the language point to be covered, teaching aids to be used, anticipated problems (and possible solutions), procedure(s) to be utilized, phases (Engage-Study-Activate methodology of lesson), anticipated timing, interaction, the class level, number of students anticipated, and the date/time of the lesson.
