In this unit, I learned about the different teaching theories, methods and techniques. I was particularly interested in the different ideas of what to do in each phase of the lesson. For example, in the engage section playing games such as "I'm going on a holiday and.." and in the study section focusing on spelling by using hangman. These ideas, I think, will prove quite useful. It was also good to note to not correct during the engage section—this will be something I will have to remind myself of! The ESA phases in general will be a great building block in creating lesson, especially if I know what I should be targeting.
