In this lesson, I learned about the relationship between teachers and students as well as what makes a "good teacher" and a "good learner." There are many different roles that teachers need to take on within the classroom and it is important that teachers are able to switch between roles when appropriate during the lesson. For example, a teacher can go from being a facilitator to being a monitor or even a participant. I also learned about differences between learners in regards to their age—specifically between adult and young learners—whether it be nervousness or motivational. I also learned to take into account the cultural expectations of teachers as well as the cultural background that some students may have. In addition, I learned the different attributes of the various learning levels. I am eager to learn more on how to keep my class varied and engaging as that seems to be a key factor in the classroom.
