The content of this unit explains motives and methods for evaluating learners' language level and their progress. Different tests are used to evaluate learners; each type of test has a main outcome to evaluate. As a teacher, you may want to know what the learners' motivations are (it can be for formal or informal reasons), at what level they are (to see where to start with the course) and it is a necessity to keep track of the students' progress.
