Teachers have a preference of the course books to use when teaching. These preferences may depend on what the teacher perceives as important or less important. Some teachers trust course books and rely fully on them while others may despise these course books. Textbooks are usually very many and therefore it’s up to the teachers to choose the ones they feel are best for the different needs of the students. Teachers should use both authentic materials and created materials that are best suited for students’ levels. When analysing course book there are some factors which also needs to be considered like the price of the book, its availability, its design, the syllabus among others. If a book is lacking in any of these then teachers need to look for other options like omitting lessons deemed less important, replace with appropriate materials, supplement or adapt using the teachers own techniques.
