I think it was important to read about fluency versus accuracy because although we want the students to speak 100% correctly, it is not wise to correct every single mistake during the engage phase, when fluency is the goal. It is more important to “drill” during the study phase, and even then, mistakes should be handled gently as not to discourage the students, but at the same time making sure they know what is correct. Output during the engage phase is controlled by the students, so this chapter helped give ideas on how to motivate the students with fun games and activities.
