Within this lesson I have become more wary of coursebooks (since they can become boring, pricey, outdated, or vague), and have been more encouraged to come up with creative balances (games, crosswords, activities, etc). There's also the matter of choosing different levels of authentic materials. The use of commonly seen/heard phrases/items is really clever, and is so easy to acquire. What good is language if you don't know how it works in the real world? Of course I appreciate creativity as well--there should always be an sense of fun and enjoyment when learning. I've mostly been given more interesting ideas for future lessons, which is always helpful!
