Unit 18 covered more grammatical concepts such as passive voice, independent/dependent clauses and auxiliary verbs. New concepts I learned from this lesson include how to explain auxiliary verbs when applied to past, present or future tenses. How to adjust their use depending on how formal the speaker wants to be. How to change an active voiced sentence to a passive voiced while maintaining the same meaning. And finally the three different types of phrasal verbs. Each section also included examples of activities that can be used to teach these concepts in the classroom. Gradual exposure can help ease students into the more complex elements such as phrasal verbs making the learning experience an easier endeavor.
