This unit went over various teaching methods that can be applied by teachers even some that are not thought of to be as effective as others. Then it focused on the "Engage, Study, Activate" method which is thought of to be one of the most effective methods by this course. This method involves engaging your students and gauging their skills without involving yourself too much. Then comes the study phase where you become more involved and focus on the actual lesson and correct things that you noticed the students struggled with during the engage phase. The activate phase is where the students employ the concepts that they learned in the study phase in a more structured way than in the engage phase. The phases do not necessarily have to be in that order and there are several different ways to go between the various stages of ESA. The rest of the unit focused on giving many different examples of ways a teacher could employ the different stages in a classroom.
