The first video of the poorly conducted lesson was honestly hard to watch because it was obvious that the teacher did not prepare and that the students were afraid to answer as they saw the teacher only as an authority figure and not a confidant in the target language. The repetition of the same line of questioning in this lesson was both inconsiderate and ineffective. The first thing I noticed about the second lesson was the name tags and the teacher addressing each student by their name. This technique paired with the activate phase of the second lesson really got the students comfortable contributing to the lesson verbally.
