I have learnt about different teaching theories and lesson planning techniques, in particular the Engage-Study-Activate approach. This approach is malleable and can be changed to suit the learning objective of the class.
When correcting students it is important to understand the difference between mistakes (usually isolated) and errors (repeated, due o a fundamental misunderstanding). Corrections should be made primarily for the language point being taught, as over-correcting other errors can undermine the confidence of the student.
