This unit is about troubleshootong. I can say that during teaching you can face a lot of problems. I think it can be not onle one problem or a mixture of different issues. Now let`s pay closer look to these issues. The first one is first lesson. As arule it`s challenge for the teacher and a student. During first lesson all activities should be interesting and inspiring for furure work. The first one the rapport. If you will have rapport with your students it`s great. You need to find out their interests and needs. There are a number of activities that are suitable for the first lesson. They are: Any type of questionnaire suitable for the first lesson (something to build rapport), tell about yourself , your family, or friends, Passing game. All these activities will help to create a friendly atmosphere. The especial attention should be paid to warmers. I think this is vital for young children. Warm up is vital ;for young learners as there`s a lack of motivation, but they are full of curuosity. Typical games and activities for warmers are : hangman game, pictionary, tongue twisters, memory game. For young leraners we can add some physical activities. As a teachers we know that sometimes school can combine studenra with different levels within one class. The combination of different tasks, materials , different types of work can cope with this problem. Teacher should be very flexible with this problem. One more problem is large classes. In this case individual work is not suitable because it will take a lot of time. Group work, choral repetiotion and wide use of worksheet are must in such class. Large class is a challenge for the teacher, but you need to arrange your work properly. The next one is use of native language . I think that it`s inevitable and sometimes students will use their mother tongue. Our task is to reduse it`s usage. We can use some approaches or methods to avoid this. The are as follows: appropriate level of activities, clear explanations, encouragement of students, ‘only english rule’ respond only in English, constant reminds to students. I think that we shold use a combination of these methods. We can not focus only on one. The other issue is reluctant srudent. We should bear in mind they do not do it intentionally. It can be cultural or confidence issues. The best way to cope with this problem is to use pair work and role play. Sometimes they work better when they play some other role. This can help to cope with their lack of confidence. The next one is difficulties with listening texts. In this unit we pay attention more to differet level of perceptive skill for different students. The only suggestion is to plan you work ahead and have a balance of different activities for quicker or slower students. This unit is great! Thank you ITTT!
