Unit 15 covers the various types of English proficiency tests as well as techniques used to monitor and quantify student learning progress. This unit was helpful in bringing to attention common tests that English learners may take in the future. Being familiar with these tests will be helpful in the future since knowing the primary focus of a test a student may be interested in can help when creating a lesson plan or activity that will benefit them the most. Student progress reporting was a method my instructors would use with me and they proved very useful when it came time for self-study. Although I have never seen a diagnostic test this will be a good tool to familiarize myself with which can be used when developing lesson plans.
