From this unit i have understood that in the ESA method, there is more emphasis on student-led grammar, vocabulary discovery, eliciting the grammar (vocabulary) from students rather than giving a detailed (and often boring!) teacher-led presentation. All the techniques for grammar, vocabulary given in the unit are well structured according to the phases of a lesson. it makes the theory be very understanable and usefull.
