This been the most interesting topic so far, and one that will require a lot of thought when implementing into the classroom. I have previously been working in an international school with English speaking teachers from all around the world, and very few of us had the same accent. I had often wondered about how the phonetic alphabet compares from one accent to another. I am Australian, but after living and working in Asia for some time now, I find that when I return home, people will say that my accent has changed and sounds more North American. I would be curious to find out why this has happened. Perhaps North Americans speak more phonetically than Australians.
