This unit reviewed what a teacher needs to consider in choosing vocabulary, grammar, and language function to teach to students, what students need to know about each of these things, and why it might be difficult for students to learn each of these things. The most helpful part of this unit for me was the suggestions as to how the structure of a class can compliment the learning of each of these language aspects. I have already observed in classes that I have assisted with how senior teachers will change the structure of a lesson depending on what they teach that day. After reading through this unit, I think I'll be better able to observe these classes and take note of how a classes design contributes to the learning of the students.
