You may often be teaching a class which has students who are clearly of different levels. They may have different starting levels of English or they may learn at very different speeds - for any number of reasons.
Mixed levels is always a problem. Luckily where I work it doesn't happen often, but when it does it's tricky to deal with. I prefer to pair up strong and weak students, but also find that strong and strong can work as well as weak and weak sometimes, but only if the weak ones are next to me, so I can let the strong ones get on with it and work on the weaker ones weakness...if that makes sense.
