Unit 1 focused on different types of students and teachers, and how teachers should orient themselves to ensure success among language learners. This unit taught me about the nuances of being a good teacher in a different cultural setting, how to identify students based on language level and age and use strategies targeted toward improving learning experiences among student groups, and different roles teachers can take on to diversify their daily lessons. This was a very useful and informative introduction that reaffirms past experiences I have had as both a learner and teacher.
