In this Unit we learn about modals, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice. It reveals just how complicated English is, and that it would take four years of full time study of grammar to grasp all of the nuances. We also learn about relative clauses. Good examples are provided for grouped sentences, and how to change the meaning of the sentence in pair work and group work, for example, My wife chose the wallpaper vs. the wallpaper was chosen by my wife. Typical student errors are covered, too, for example, that the "to be" is often left out. Must be confusing for non-native speakers to understand why we have to say "The kids are going to be mad that they have to go to bed soon." It is easier to teach the actual vocabulary in this case, than it is to try and teach the rules!
