This unit discusses two of the most important skills for learning a new language and how to begin teaching them. These two skills are reading and listening. It discussed the two reasons for reading and listening; for a purpose and for entertainment. It discussed the ways that we process the information including, skimming, scanning, predictive, detailed information, and deduction. We then reviewed setting up a lesson using the straight arrow ESA (Engage, study, activate)
