After finishing this unit, I have understood the importance and methods of teaching the productive skills writing and speaking. From experience and reading through this unit, I felt that speaking would be simpler to teach than writing because often writing is assigned as homework and not done in class. This should not be the way, both writing and speaking are equally important, with the right methods of incorporating their interest, I think both can be accomplished in my lessons. After learning the three speaking activities and the techniques to encourage interaction for speaking; the four areas needed for writing handwriting, spelling, pronunciation and creative writing, I am ready to teach my own productive skills lesson!
