What I learnt from this unit is that the use of course books are a contentious topic among EFL Teachers. As such, I was eager to learn how best to use course books to the advantage and benefits of the students. To this end, I learnt that fundamentally, Authentic material such as newspapers, songs etc, although useful as the primary method to be exposed to the English language, due to not being designed for EFL Students, largely requires Created materials such as role plays and other activities to teach new students of the English language effectively.
