This unit covers challenges we might face in the classroom with certain groups of students. Unit 20 starts by noting the difference between new groups of students, who have no former knowledge of ELF or each other to existing groups, who might have students who already know each other and are familiar with the structure of an EFL course. Many potential problems can arise and there are so many factors that can cause these bumps in our teaching that we can prevent. I am thankful this course has given so may clear examples and resources for teachers to use who are new to TEFL to use. I know I will go into this coming school year with more confidence and the courage to try some of the ESA methodology out. Once again, as mentioned in this unit, nothing is more important than establishing good student to student and student to teacher rapport at the start of a course!
