Unit 4 examines the four aspects of the present tense. 'Present simple' is used to give facts and instructions, or talk about habits. 'Present continuous' is used to describe ongoing actions or unfolding situations. Usage of 'Present perfect' can be difficult to explain. It describes actions that happened in the indefinite past, or actions that have finished but occurred in a time-period which is still ongoing. 'Present perfect continuous' also describes ongoing activities, but adds how long they have been occurring for.
