I studied both, Conditionals and Reported Speech when I was in Middle School and I still can remember how difficult was for me until the point that every time I had a test I had to write down in the corner of the exam the 4 types of conditional in order to not mix them up.
What I find difficult when teaching this grammar unit is the transition between how we teach the theory (which obviously is more than necessary) and the way the students put it into practice in a natural way and understanding the logic to it. The charts and explanations in this unit are actually very useful and clear and the teaching ideas are nice. However, I still feel that there has to be a way of teaching this that is more easily digested by students (especially for those who don't have these structures in their mother tongue) But overall really useful and refreshing unit (I didn't remember that the Zero Conditional was called like this)
