In this unit I learnt the concept of 'pre-existent knowledge' which is invaluable as a Teacher in assessing the right level of the English Language to be taught. Also, in the planning of a lesson, understanding how 'reading and listening' as Receptive Skills impacts upon how a lesson should be paced in order to achieve a balanced approached I also found immensely useful. How learning the concept of pre-existent knowledge' and understanding the importance of creating a balanced approach ultimately has assisted in how best to structure a coherent and effective lesson plan based upon the key stages of a typical 'Engage, Study, Activate' model.
