From this lesson, I learned that it is important to understand parts of speech, and how to use it (and create them) in sentences. For example, a sentence that uses past simple is equally as "easy" to create as a present simple, but a past perfect continuous doesn't always match up well. The usages of each past tense can tend to be confusing, but I boiled it down to four easy key phrases for myself: "definite finished time", "finished but continuing", "all actions over" and finally "finished until something else happens."
