With this unit I learnt how to handle some common problems that I might encounter during my career as a teacher. I've come to understand, with this unit as well as the others I've read, that the first lesson is very important. It is at that first meeting you establish the much needed rapport. Choosing the right activities for the first lesson is one of the things that will help the teacher and students during the lessons that follows. With children I've learnt that it is more easy to show who they should listen to in the beginning of the semester since it is easier to relax the control further in than to gain the control in a later stage (information from another unit). A lot of negative things can change or be prevented by me as a teacher. To have a variety of activities that is responding to the needs of the students will hopefully keep them from getting reluctant and bored.
