In this unit I learned the importance of receptive skills in teaching. These skills are reading and listening skills. I'm glad the unit addressed the problem that listening is much more difficult than reading because you can not go back over it again and again to gain a clearer understanding. Listening skills are more of a one time shot at hearing and trying to understand the vocabulary. I am glad the unit offers ways to make it easier on students like pre-teaching harder vocabulary. However, I still feel the unit focused mainly on reading.
