Learning about the various types of tests and exams available to help learners of English is useful. I now understand why teachers use different tests with different content, lengths and difficulty for students. The tests grade isn't always important, as is finding out what is causing students difficulty or requires more practice and attention. If used well, tests are key in determining if information is being absorbed during class time and if understanding is take place during the teaching process.
