This unit describes the characteristics of a good teacher and a good learner. The unit also describes different roles that a teacher takes on when teaching a class. As for the learner, it is divided into two categories: young learners and adults. Young learners are further subdivided into three sub-categories. They are the post puberty or early teen age, pre-puberty learner and very young learners. The unit further explains the different levels in the English language as well as the Common European Framework designed by the Council of Europe. One useful thing I have learnt is the different levels of young learners and characteristics that I have to be aware of. For example, if I am teaching a very young learner, I should include more interactive activities such as fun games, singing or drawing. The activity should include a lot of visual aids that the young learner will generally more attracted to.
