This unit is an overview of why receptive skills( such as reading and listening) are important, why we use them( for entertainment or a purpose) the different ways we read and listen ( such as detailed information and General idea skimming) and how to teach these skills.
Pre-teaching vocabulary before listening and reading was a concept that although mentioned in previous units, was explained in more specific detail here. I received a much better understanding of it in this unit.
